Hi! I'm Megan.
A bit more about me and my background:
I grew in Pittsburgh, PA with a single, alcoholic mom. If you’ve ever been around an alcoholic, you know a lot of the trauma that can come along with that. I developed a lot of mental health issues from a young age, and spent over a decade on medications that made me feel like a zombie at best. This really changed when I found fitness in my mid-twenties. I was able to successfully get off all my medications, stay off, and feel like a relatively normal person. Soon after, I got certified as a personal trainer and started working in the health/fitness industry.
Not too long after, I was in a minor car accident. I was arguably in the best shape of my life at this time. All of a sudden, I started having severe chronic lower back pain, chronic fatigue, all kinds of gut issues (pregnant belly bloating, gas, constipation, and food sensitivities were on the rise), the anxiety/depression came back in full force, my weight started to go up, and I just felt awful all the time.
I sought out chiropractors, massage therapists, acupuncturists, hot/cold therapies, physical therapists, orthopedic doctors and surgeons, and pain management specialists who, at best, could give me a day or two relief from the pain. Nothing made a huge difference and nothing really lasted. I developed nerve pain (sciatica), lost most of the feeling in my right leg/foot, and developed bursitis in my left hip. When my only answer left was opioids, I started seeking out alternative methods.
When I started going down the functional medicine route, I started elimination diets that led to significant disordered eating and I got down to only being able to handle eating some meat and white rice. I had been diagnosed with hypothyroidism, early stage autoimmunity, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), acid reflux, leaky gut/intestinal permeability, high and low cortisol, chronic Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), inflammatory issues, and as having neuropathway issues. I was on all the supplements, gut healing protocols, adrenal fatigue protocols, and so many others with some results, but I still didn’t feel good.
I had already started taking courses and digging deeper myself at this point. It wasn’t until I figured out I had heavy metal toxicity (aluminum and mercury being the two big ones), parasites (which EVERYONE missed), and addressed the chronic EBV head on that I started to make some strides. Numbers started improving, energy started coming back, and I could eat at least some more food without crazy issues.
Identifying movement pattern dysfunctions (especially with my feet/ankles and hips- which none of the 8-9 physical therapists ever looked at, even the ones paid out of pocket) and balancing my entire body got rid of the back pain as well during this time. There was still a missing piece though. It wasn’t until I started going deep into addressing trauma through a variety of different modalities that I really saw massive changes that stuck.
This is why I’m so passionate about not only the nutrition piece, but also working on functional movement, stress management/trauma work, and identifying/addressing root causes. All of these work so closely together in the body, and we have to work through all of them to provide the most optimal conditions to allow our body to truly and fully heal. I spent over $50,000 just on providers during this journey, and my entire goal is to help you not have to spend anywhere close to this figure and do it in a much shorter amount of time than I had to. If you are ready to start getting your life and energy back, I’d love to speak with you to see how I can help you.
Hi! I'm Shannon.
Hello! My name is Shannon Callery. I have been immersed in the health and wellness industry since age 17. I am a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP), Functional Blood Chemistry Specialist (FBCS), and Public Health graduate. I have always been passionate about helping others heal, and my own healing journey has led me to becoming an NTP!Â
Â
When I was a child I had severe digestive issues that then turned into awful constipation, where anxiety and depression followed. I spent much of my youth and teen years visiting doctors and specialists trying to get answers. Year by year, my issues got worse, and I felt ignored and unheard by the medical system. I knew there had to be something at the root of my health that was wrong, but I didn’t know what. I decided to take control and start helping myself. When I was 17 years old, I started researching and adjusting my diet and seeing other holistic health practitioners where I was offered food restrictions and different testing that was still missing the root cause. I learned a lot along the way, but ultimately fell into an eating disorder.Â
Â
The confusion and fear of food that is created by media and health misinformation took me into a new direction. During the healing phase of my eating disorder, I learned the importance of emotional health, nervous system regulation, and the effects of trauma in the body. After 25 years of life, I finally felt I had control of my healing. After spending more time focusing on regulating my nervous system, I was able to get to the root of my issues and work on healing from mold, parasites, and other toxicities.Â
Â
My knowledge and healing experiences drive me every day to help others feel heard and reach their health goals!
Hi! I'm Brendon.
Hi! My name is Brendon McCarville and I’m an associate practitioner with Trifecta Collective. I am a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (FNTP), Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 200, RYT 500), Life and Success Coach and Energy Healer.Â
Â
While I experienced gut issues from a young age and ulcers in middle school, my health journey didn’t really begin until my late twenties when I gained a significant amount of weight because of job, relationship and overall life stress without enough support or coping skills to manage it.
Â
In an effort to lose that weight, I tried several fad diets and exercise programs. While I did lose the weight, I developed severe blood sugar issues and nutrient deficiencies that caused other health problems. That’s when I found the functional nutrition world and signed up for the Nutritional Therapy Practitioner program. Through that training, I was able to dramatically improve my health while maintaining my new lower weight. While nutrition made a huge impact for me, I still had lingering issues like hormonal imbalances, chronic fatigue, hypothyroidism and chronic Epstein Barr virus (EBV).Â
Â
Then in 2014, a rock climbing injury (caused by over exercising when I had so much fatigue) led me back to yoga. I began practicing regularly and noticed an improvement in my fatigue and my ability to handle the stresses of life. I went through yoga teacher training in 2015 and have been practicing and teaching ever since.Â
Â
As I practiced yoga more and explored the yogic philosophy, I became very interested in the energy body and the subconscious mind. Around that same time, I read the book The Biology of Belief and was blown away to learn about epigenetics and the role of environment, beliefs and trauma play in overall health and well-being. That led me to energy healing and life coaching work. I went through training on nervous system regulation and got certified in PSYCH-K, EFT, hypnosis, TIME Techniques, NLP and Life & Success Coaching. Â
Â
After all that, I finally felt like I had all the pieces to the puzzle of my health journey. It has taken more than 10 years, lots of restrictive diets, many different kinds of practitioners, plus significant investments of time and money, but I finally feel empowered around my health and my life.Â
Â
It doesn’t have to take that long or be that hard, especially when you’re working from a holistic perspective. It is possible to regain your energy and live a healthy life again, and I’d love to help you get there!
